Brownsville, TX Full-Time

Our company is looking for true sales trailblazers that can help us continue to evolve, grow and deliver custom solutions to local businesses. We have built a company uniquely designed to meet the needs of our clients in a rapidly evolving and demanding media environment. With the help from professionals like you, we’ll continue our success in these efforts. This person will be responsible for growing advertising revenues through the consultative sale of both print and digital solutions including newspaper, specialty publications, digital display, SEO, PPC, social media, mobile, website development and local services.

Candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to maximize revenue potential to meet company/business objectives, demonstrate consultative sales skills, have strong analytical and research capabilities to develop multi-media proposals and presentations to potential clients; must possess strong written and verbal communication skills, be capable of executing dynamic presentations, have  exceptional problem solving abilities, demonstrate excellent MS Office capabilities.

 

Essential Skills: 

The ideal candidate must be an aggressive sales professional with proven sales success in managing a book of business in addition to developing new business. Prior media sales experience required with a commitment to exceptional customer service.

• Work independently to identify, propose and present multi-media solutions to existing and prospective clients in Brownsville and its surrounding communities.

• Engage and strategize with advertising clients to demonstrate Valley Bargain Book’s value proposition and how we can assist them in meeting their marketing objectives through a variety of digital products and services.

 

Requirements: 

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years advertising sales experience with demonstrated success in growing revenue:

• Understanding and demonstrated application of a consultative sales approach.

• Understand and be able to articulate the value proposition of selling hyper local audiences.

• Demonstrated proficiency in SFDC or similar CRM solution.

• Experience working with and/or selling to small and large/national businesses including agencies.

• Nimble thinker and entrepreneurial instincts and a willingness to develop untested sales products and strategies.

• The desire and ability to be largely self-directed as necessary.

• Excellent negotiation and presentation skills.

• Demonstrated proficiency in MS Office applications – specifically Excel and Power Point.

 

Education: 

BA/BS degree preferred.

Compensation includes a competitive base salary plus commissions. We offer Health, Dental, Vision, Flexible Spending Accounts, Life Insurance and 401(k).

Now Hiring: Multi-Media Advertising Director

Harlingen/Brownsville

The Valley Bargain Book is seeking a strong sales leader to accelerate local multi-media advertising growth of our publications and related digital products.  

Responsibilities include driving print and digital revenue through new account acquisition; maximizing key revenue initiatives; coaching and developing the staff; collaborating effectively with management colleagues; building a sales pipeline; and maintaining excellent client relationships. 

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate a track record of goal attainment, overcoming challenges and driving digital advertising growth.

We are seeking an individual with a related degree, five or more years of successful ad department management and expertise in development of business plans and sales proposals, trend analysis, forecasting and a core understanding of the metrics of our business.
